We are recruiting for the Hospital Director's Secretary role, supporting the Hospital Director and hospital Senior Management Team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for diary management and ensuring updates and amendments are communicated to all parties efficiently.
  • Manage and co-ordinate external and internal communications and act as a first point of contact; prioritising accordingly and ensuring appropriate action is taken, including the response, filing and updating email and hard copy information.
  • To coordinate and prepare documentation in response to the business requirements.
  • Build and manage relationships with all key internal and external contacts, to ensure their needs and requirements are being met and to deal with enquiries from patients, families and other stakeholders.
  • Act as the Hospital's Complaints Coordinator, ensuring the complaints database is updated, coordinating investigations and ensuring timescales are met.
  • Attendance at meetings as required, ensuring the recording and distribution of minutes of meetings.
  • Responsible for management of specific projects and events as required, ensuring collation and distribution of agenda items and associated material.
  • Seeks to improve processes and the general ebb and flow of information in support of the effective working of the hospital's senior management team.
  • Coordinate the hospital's colleague recognition scheme on the Hospital Director's behalf.
  • The successful candidate will have a competent level of numeracy and literacy with good computer skills to an intermediate level of proficiency for the standard range of office applications including word, excel and publisher.
  • They will have strong organisational skills, will be an effective communicator and will be able to prioritise competing demands.  They will be a good team player and will display an enthusiastic, values driven approach to their work, acting as a role model of Priory's behaviours at all times.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green is located in the stunning Lickey Hills Country Park, 10 miles south of Birmingham City Centre. We have thirty-three beds across three wards including ten NHS Psychiatric Intensive Care beds for women, thirteen NHS acute beds for men and women and ten private beds for men and women. In addition to providing inpatient services, the hospital has a large Outpatient department and regional conference facilities.
