Job Advert Role Description

We have a vacancy for a Trainee Forensic Psychologist to join our team. The role will be split across our secure and acute services.

As a trainee forensic psychologist, the expectation is that you will be eligible for commencing one of the training routes towards eligibility for registration with the HCPC as a Forensic Psychologist. In this capacity, you will be expected to undertake the tasks required to demonstrate competencies, within the required timeframes, according to your chosen route. You will receive some study leave and for the routes we support.

The Trainee Psychologist joining our service will be expected to provide:

  • A specialist psychology service to people with a mental disorder/personality disorder through developing specialist psychological formulations and assessments, formulating plans for their psychological treatments
  • Implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups as per NICE & best practice guidelines.
  • To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals.
  • To work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

About Kneesworth:

Kneesworth House is a 140 bed mental health hospital situated in Cambridgeshire (on the borders of Hertfordshire) with good commuting access to / from London. The hospital has a full pathway of care including medium, low secure, locked rehabiltation and open recovery wards  situated across the site.
