Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Bristol is an elegant 18th century country residence set in beautiful parkland close to the centre of Bristol, less than 5 minutes away from the M32 leading directly onto the M4/M5 motorway.  Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group it has 77 beds over seven wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon’s and Dementia, along with a growing outpatient therapy service.

 

This is a permanent position, which will require the post holder to provide a systemic family therapy service to the patients receiving inpatient care and their families. This will involve providing specialist systemic assessment and intervention for patients and their families and the successful candidate will also attend or contribute to ward rounds, CPAs, and MDT assessments, formulations, and care planning. The Family Therapist also offers Outpatient appointments working with our Day Care Therapy Service.

Requirements;

  • Accredited Therapist with Priory approved list 3+ years post qualification experience
  • As per therapist role, but can also demonstrate further specialist training and qualifications that allow them to see complex patients

The role includes;

  • Run specialist training informed groups for inpatients & day care patient
  • To clinically supervise 1-2 therapists per month as per therapist role (depending on qualification)
  • To be available to support clinical MDT reviews and/or support trainee therapists & counsellors with individual case reviews
  • Full range of mental health issues and would expect some kind of specialism for example Trauma / DBT lead / PD
  • To be able to support wider hospital with debriefs after incidents as required
  • To deliver high quality specialist family therapy assessments and interventions as part of our Eating Disorders team. To provide family therapy advice, training and supervision to colleagues, as appropriate.
  • Day Care Therapists support our Outpatients through 1:1 Therapy Appointments and work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing, successful team.
