Job Advert Location Description

Tree Top View is a residential home for adults aged 18 plus, who have complex needs including autism, learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. The home is situated in Leyland near Preston and consists of a detached house within its own grounds and a separate annexe. The accommodation allows adults to both enjoy the advantages of communal living but to also practice independence skills within their own quiet space.

We at Priory group are seeking to recruit Senior Support Workers based at our site at Tree Top View just outside of Leyland.  Tree Top View provides residential care and support for people with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that are challenging.

 

The Senior Support Worker position is a busy role that provides a high standard of care and support to service users with learning disabilities, autism, mental ill-health and behaviours that may challenge.

It is a challenging yet very rewarding role, and no shift will be the same.

The Job

•          To provide support to the residents with complex needs in their everyday lives

•          Tasks involved with daily living such as maintaining a safe and clean environment.

•          Participate and initiate activities in and outside of the home.

•          Provide support that will enable the service user to live as independently as possible.

•          Use skills, previous experiences and knowledge to respond to challenging situations & behaviours

•          Support staff with coaching, mentoring and personal development

•          Team management – lead the shift, plan activities and staff rotas.

 

We are looking for a candidate who has experience within a similar role/ environment or someone who has been a support worker and feels ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have access to our Priory Adult care careers pathways, a number of courses to assist self-development towards leadership and management (NVQs, train the trainer).
