Job Advert Role Description

We’re currently looking for a Ward Clerk to add to our dedicated CAMHS team on our Meadows unit.


As part of the hospital's comprehensive CAMHS service, Meadows ward provides focussed care and treatment to young people aged 13-17 years who require psychiatric intensive care.  The 10-bedded unit  offers indiviudalised treatment for both male and female patients which is provided by a highly experienced and dedicated multi-disciplinary team.





The Ward Clerk would be responsible for providing a comprehensive reception and administrative service to patients, visitors and ward staff to ensure the smooth day to day running of the ward area.  The role is an important part of the administrative team within the hospital.


Duties also include, but are not limited to:


•Creation and Management of Patient paper and electronic files

•Entering and updating patient information onto the electronic care record system

•Liaison with external agencies

•Taking ward telephone calls and taking and passing on messages

•Management and monitoring of petty cash and patient monies

•Assisting ward staff with general day-to-day admin; filing, photocopying, printing etc

•Data Entry

•Any other administrative tasks deemed appropriate for the ward

•Ordering and management of ward supplies






To thrive in this role you will be friendly and personable, calm and compassionate.  You will have an excellent standard of written and spoken English and be fully competent with Microsoft.  You should be organised with the abiity to prioritise and be flexible and adaptable with a strong team ethic.  It is also important you respect confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.


Ideal candidates will have previous experience within an administrative role with experience of dealing with the public.
