Princes Street is a specialist residential home for adults with either a primary diagnosis mental health and/or an associated learning disability.  The home is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the community along with good transport link to Cardiff city centre

Job Advert Role Description

Princes Street supports adults with learning disabilities and associated physical and mental health conditions. We work with amazing, unique individuals who never cease to amaze us with their humour, progress and ability to make us smile daily.

To be deputy manager, you will be flexible and have experience in leading a team as well as being able to demonstrate experiences and knowledge of supporting people in a proactive, person centred way. You will need to have the experience and confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.

What our deputy manager will do:

• Support residents to live as independently as possible Act as a senior member of staff on shift and be confident in supporting our residents and staff team
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residents and their families
• Take residents out and about –  walking, local cafes, local lunch clubs and coffee mornings, singing groups, outdoor parks and gardens
• Drivers able to go further afield for longer day trips and events
• Provide in house activities – singing, sensory sessions and baking
• Manage physical challenging behaviours
• Contribute to the on-call rota and a varied shift pattern
• Work with a great team and have fun!
