We are looking for an experienced, RMN qualified Deputy Ward Manager to join our psychologically minded, fast paced team.

The post is situated on the Featherstone ward, a 10 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care secure Unit that provides high quality care to male patients experiencing an acute phase of illness. The team work with men with a variety of complex mental health challenges and support them through their care pathway back into the community.

The teams consist of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Speciality Doctor, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health Nurses and experienced Healthcare Assistants who form the Multidisciplinary teams. Their approach is to work closely with stakeholders and commissioning bodies to achieve minimum lengths of stay for patients through effective discharge planning and a dynamic therapeutic approach.

 The duties of the role include but are not limited to:

•           Assisting the Ward Manager in providing day to day management and supervision of the ward.
•           Assisting the Ward manager in providing management and supervision of a team of registered and unregistered staff.
•           Implementing best practice across the ward.
•           Support changes within the service
•           Responsible for the clinical direction of the service
•           Support the delivery of therapeutic care to men on the programme
