Job Advert Location Description

Southampton Priory is nestled in the idillic New Forest.  We are a 40 bedded inpatient unit supporting Adult Acute and Eating Disorder patients.

Job Advert Role Description

The key responsibilities for this role are:

1. Meet and greet visitors to the ward 
2. Provide a prompt and efficient telephone response service on the ward 
3. Ensure that all communication is within the boundaries of patient confidentiality, and seek guidance when unsure 
4. Ensure the ward administration systems are in place, to support the clinical team 
5. Prepare patient admission packs
6. Record patient admissions and discharges on the relevant IT systems 7. Arrange sick certificates for patients on admission and throughout their stay as required 
8. Obtain patient records from other hospitals as required 
9. Communicate with the Admissions team, Bed manager, Medical Secretaries and other colleagues regarding bed availability and related matters 
10. Document information in accordance with Record keeping and GDPR standards 
11. Order stationary and food supplies for the ward 
12. Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail on the ward 
13. Book patient transport as required 
14. In liaison with site reception, provide a room booking service for the ward 
15. Undertake photocopying, filing and archiving services 
16. To maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act – Update with GDPR& Priory Group policy.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a disclosure at the enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Services.
