Nelson House is a modern and spacious 30 bed locked rehabilitation recovery service for men with mental illness. By having a focus on the development of skills for independence the unit provides a positive step for patients, many whose next step will be living in the community. It helps patients learn new ways of managing their conditions and symptoms with the aim of helping to prevent any future relapse. For patients with challenging behaviours, Nelson House helps them to learn skills to change their response to anxiety and distress.

As part of the Support Services team, our Chefs provide a high quality service to our service users through the creation, presentation and delivery of meals. Working with a team of Catering Assistants, the successful candidate will assist with the provision of the catering service with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation and cooking of meals.

This role involves being able to work ad hoc shifts and unplanned absences.

Your responsibilities in this role are as follows:

•           Required to deliver an efficient and high quality catering service within the hospital to assist the planning, preparation, cooking and service of meals.

•           Ensures the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries. Ensures that wastage is minimised.

•           Ensures that Priory maximum standards are delivered in all areas in a timely and efficient manner, as part of a team.
