The Priory Hospital Newbury are excited to be launching an updated service after a period of expansion and improvements now offering a 34 bed Recovery and Rehabilitation service for men with enduring mental ill health problems. We are set on the southern outskirts of Newbury and have excellent public transport links to London which is just a 50 minute train journey.

Within the service is a care pathway offering an admission ward, a community facing ward, a longer term ward for patients with more complex needs and also a 4 bed flat for patients who are returning to independent living in the community. The site is warm and welcoming with a homely atmosphere.

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, innovative and forward thinking individual to lead, manage and co-ordinate delivery of Occupational Therapy at the Hospital; ensuring the range and level of interventions, treatments and activities complies with statutory regulations, meets quality standards, and delivers against key performance indicators. Using evidence based and patient centred principles, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions which provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.

You may also be expected to participate in the on call cover for the Hospital. You will be very organised, positive, confident and an effective communicator. Previous supervisory/managerial experience for a group of staff will be an advantage as you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
