Job Advert Role Description

We currently have a post for a Deputy Ward Manager on our Eating Disorders unit - Aspen.


The Eating Disorders service here at Cheadle Royal is made up of Cedars an 18 bed unit and Aspen an 11 bed Unit. Together both units work cohesively to provide care for both male and female patients with the goal to provide positive psychological and physical outcomes throughout the provision.


In order to provide our service users with the best care possible we rely on a team of motivated professionals to work together. Each ward has a team which includes Consultants, Psychologists, Occupational Therpists, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.


As a Deputy Ward Manager, you would be responsible to ensure continuity of this approach along with the opportunity to add any great ideas of your own.


The duties of the role include but are not limited to:

•          Assisting the Ward Manager in providing day-to-day management and supervision of the ward.

•          Assisting the Ward manager in providing management and supervision of a team of registered and unregistered staff.

•          Implementing best practice across the ward.

•          Support changes within the service

•          Responsible for the clinical direction of the service

•          Support the delivery of personalised care and contribute to service improvement.

•          Experienced in delivering and receiving supervision

•          Excellent leadership skills

•          Ability to access and prioritise clinical situations

•          Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•          Team player

•          Proficient in the management of acutely unwell patients

•          Excellent knowledge of medications and its role in stabilising the most acutely unwell patients

•          Can demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the five Key Lines of Enquiry

•          Evidence of excellent knowledge of Safewards and previous interventions.
