Job Advert Location Description

Beverley House is a 24-bedded rehabilitation hospital for women over the age of 18, situated in the heart of the community in Birmingham. 

Patients admitted to Beverley House may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act with a primary diagnosis of mental illness and personality disorder with complex needs.

 

 

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking for a qualified and experienced experienced General adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team in our rehabilitation unit. Beverley house is situated along City road, in Edgbaston. Our Patients have complex mental health needs such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder and personality disorder with atypical eating at times. 

You will be supported by full a MDT team -nurses, Occupational therapist, Psychology and one junior doctor. As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will have access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals to engage and network with, as well as a range of benefits and excellent range of career development opportunities. 

You will be working 37.5 hours a week over 4 or 5 days alongside the multidisciplinary team.

You will provide medical leadership and input during morning daily handover, monthly ward reviews and CPA meeting to ensure best practice care is delivered and support the team. You will also work collaboratively with external professionals and commissioners. It is expected that  you will join on call rota . 

Essential qualifications and experience

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification • On GMC’s specialist Register. • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists • Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status •
