We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Assistant for our College, Residential Home and associated services in the Stoke on Trent area.

The role will be based across multiple sites, and due to the locations it is paramount that the successful candidates have a full UK driving licence and are able to drive company mini buses.

As a Maintenance Assistant your primary duty will be to ensure that our residents, day students and staff team have access to a safe, well- maintained environment that adheres to all health and safety standards. This includes looking after a college site, residential home/s workshop area and a café. You will need to work closely with the site managers in each establishment to ensure that all fixtures and fittings are in excellent condition and equipment is regularly serviced.

Duties will include:

  • Perimeter checks and preventable maintenance checks
  • Ensuring the site is maintained as a safe and secure place to live/train/study and or dine in for service users and the public
  • Maintaining the site and grounds to ensure they are in excellent condition at all times
  • Work closely with the site manager on long term maintenance plans
  • Check and repair fixtures and fittings that may include lighting, heating, power and water
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly checks for our robust evidence folders
  • Ensure water temperatures are recorded and contractors are managed closely when on site to complete work to a high standard
  • Manage any aspect of reactive repairs and raise jobs to contractors where appropriate
  • Ensure waste management is followed including pest control and engagement with our approved contractors
  • Any other maintenance and day to day tasks to support each service within your capacity.
  • Painting, some plumbing, joinery and electrical skills would be desired but not all essential
