Job Advert Location Description

Princes Street is a specialist residential home for adults with either a primary diagnosis mental health and/or an associated learning disability.  The home is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the community along with good transport link to Cardiff city centre

Job Advert Role Description

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated Senior Support Worker at Princes Street who has experience of providing practical and/or emotional support to adults with mental health problems, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge
As a Senior HCA, you’ll be doing the following:
• Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home
• To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff
• Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture
• Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the residents physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
• Be the residents champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
• Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
• Support residents in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour
• You will be assigned  key worker responsibilities and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies
• Support and encourage educational engagement

Must have a level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (adult) or equivalent and must willing to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (adults).
