Our Residential Support Workers are key members of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people.  Through a creative and caring approach, our staff build good relationships with our young people, supporting them to achieve their potential whilst exploring new opportunities and interests.

Due to the remote location of the home the successful candidate will hold a full driving license.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Manage the well-being and behaviour of young people ensuring behaviour's are addressed promptly and sensitively
  • Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour
  • Be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies and advocating their needs
  • Support and encourage educational engagement and attainment including homework and behavioural support within the education setting.

We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. This may include working some weekends and bank holidays.

An example of this would be:

Week 1 - Monday and Thursday

Week 2 - Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday

Week3 - Tuesday and Friday

Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

Callow Hills farm is a 5 bedded residential childrens home situated on the school site of Priory Queenswood School, we offer a  therapuetuic approach within the home to support children and young people to fulfill their potential and achive their outcomes,  we offer a warm welcoming relaxed yet structured home we believe that all aspects of residential life should have a positive outcome. care, education and Therapy objectives are of equal importance and are combined in the construction of individual programmes, which will be used to alleviate problems, develop potential and return children and young people to their own communities when appropriate.Callow Hills Farm is situated in easy reach of local GPs, Dentist and hospitals. We have good links with the local community and also are lucky enough to have access to our own Therapy team that are situated on site. Callow Hills Farm undergone a full refurbishment in 2018 and is thoughtfully decorated and inviting to children and young people all young people are given the opportunity to personalise their bedrooms so as they feel more at home. We are able to cater for children from 8 years - 18 years of age and through a mixed staff team are able to offer placements to either gender.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.
