Job Advert Role Description

Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason. We recruit some of the most committed staff in the sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly admin team, where an excellent sense of humour is a must!

We are seeking an administrator with superb organisational skills and a keen eye for detail to join our busy, lively school office where high standards are essential. The successful candidate will undertake reception duties, and will be responsible for monitoring the school’s training calendar/system.There will be a critical finance element to this role, including petty cash and raising purchase orders. You will also be expected to undertake other general administrative duties including handling internal and external enquiries, prioritising as appropriate, answering the telephone, and meeting and greeting visitors.

The successful candidate must be able to take accurate notes at key meetings and produce reports, many of which will be sent to Education Authority departments and parents; these must reflect the salient points and the professional image of the school.

The role will include an element of data entry so the successful candidate must have an eye for detail, ensuring all information and documentation is correctly processed in line with Aspris policies and procedures in order that regulatory, statutory and financial requirements are met.

The successful candidate should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent standard, with a high level of English and numeracy, as well as possessing excellent keyboard/ICT skills and ideally a good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.

This role is full time for 42 weeks of the year; the successful candidate will work during term time, with another 2 weeks to be worked during the summer holiday and a further 2 weeks to be worked in other school holidays, as agreed with the Administration Manager.

The school:

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist day and residential school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties.

The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society.  Students have ambitions to live and work as self-reliant adults and we can help them to reach their goals with continued support, structure and guidance.  The school welcomes students on a day or weekly residential basis for 38 weeks per year.
