Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is currently looking for a Maintenance Assistant who is dynamic, self-motivated and flexible, to help contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient service for our staff and patients.


Our Maintenance team provide a high quality service to our patients through contributing to the delivery of effective and efficient day-to-day maintenance to ensure the safety of our staff, service users and visitors.


Working within our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for:

•  Maintaining a well decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the site, in line with quality standards, and follows work processes which comply with statutory regulations.

•  Identifies and reports damage, faults and other related issues to the Maintenance Lead (and then actions as agreed)

•  Carry out compliance testing (i.e. fire alarms, PPMs, vehicle checks)

•  Carry out General Maintenance tasks

•  Maintains an accurate records of all incidents and activities

•  Maintaining the security and integrity of the building as well as the safety of its occupants


Due to the nature of the role you will also need to participate in an on-call rota (for emergency maintenance needs).


What do we need from you?

•  NVQ or C&G in a craft trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing)

•  Good building / maintenance background

•  Awareness of Health and Safety and security regulations

•  Basic computer skills

•  Basic numeracy and literacy

•  Experience working within healthcare or a hospital setting would be beneficial

•  Clean driving licence

•  A flexible and positive approach to working

•  Common sense approach to work
