We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage our Children's Home in Gunnislake. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to develop, drive and shape the culture of this Children’s Home, with a view to becoming a sector leader as part of the new, specialist Children's Service - Aspris.

The role:

  • Ensure excellent standards of care and holistic support for young people.
  • You will work in partnership with other home managers, the specialist therapy team, education team and the wider company support functions.
  • Ensure that the environment and all services provided comply with statutory regulations, governance and quality standards.

The successful applicant will undertake the Registered Manager responsibilities with Ofsted and provide strategic leadership for the home ensuring a process of continuous improvement. In liaison with outside agencies and stake holders you will demonstrate professionalism and act as a role model for staff. You will be compassionate and empathetic, you will have the ability to work on your own initiative to drive innovation within the home in line with regulations.

What we would like from you:

  • Hold a Social Work Degree or NVQ/QCF Level 5 - or working towards a level 5.
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development
  • Be an experienced manager in a residential/social care setting
  • Have experience of working with children and young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties
  • Be a strong and effective leader
  • Be emotionally resilient
  • Have the ability to work flexibly and demonstrate resourcefulness
  • Have a strong 'can do' attitude
  • Have highly developed organisational skills

Our Children's Home specialises in high quality residential provision for children between 7-19 years with complex learning needs and challenging behaviour including Autism. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our children and young people is always paramount and we strive for long-lasting good memories and quality experiences for the young people who reside with us. Currently the home is registered for 3 young people.

The Children's Home is part of the new Aspris Children's Services and sits alongside three other Childrens' homes within the Devon and Cornwall cluster. Children who live in our homes usually attend our partner Specialist Schools - Tor View School and Quay View School - both graded good by Ofsted.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
