Job Advert Role Description

Priory Woking hospital is a 34 bedded unit with two wards – one female and one male ward which accepts Private patients.  

There are two pathways within the hospital which are general adult acute patients and patients on the addiction treatment programme.   

This is an exciting, and rare, opportunity to become an employed consultant within the hospital which aims to provide a real and lasting difference for everyone we support. 

This post would be a second employed consultant. Alongside employed consultants there are  number of visiting consultants working across the Hospital at Priory Woking Hospital

The postholder will provide consultant input for predominantly Addictions patients although may take some Private within the hospital and on an outpatient basis (including provision of urgent slots for some of these assessments).

The postholder will take part in the on-call rota of the hospital and provide cross cover for employed colleagues as required.

The postholder will take part in relevant clinical governance activities and take on roles as appropriate in the management of the hospital.

The postholder will work closely with Therapy Services for outpatients and daypatients.

The postholder will use carenotes as the primary record.

The postholder will be registered with all private health insurers in their own right as a practitioner. While the consultant remains employed by Priory, they will not be entitled to receive any private patient fees personally for patients seen during their contracted hours.

The postholder will have a prescribed connection with Priory for revalidation.

The postholder will have an agreed job plan with the Medical Director/Hospital Director specifying the expected activity levels in terms of the number of sessions of outpatients/inpatients/day patients/management
