Priory Woking provides private acute mental health, addictions and eating disorder services (inpatients and day patients), and run extensive private outpatient clinics. Some private beds are used by the NHS at times when no beds are available within the NHS trust.

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking a Bank (ad hoc hours) Medical Secretary based at Priory Hospital Woking to cover our permanent Medical Secretary’s annual leave/sickness. As our consultant to secretary ratio changes, we may look to take on the successful candidate on a permanent  part-time basis.

Please be aware that the role can sometimes be for a couple of weeks cover or just the odd day here and there, sometimes with no work for a few months at a time.

You will be liaising closely with the Consultant Psychiatrists to ensure a timely facilitation to Assessments of patients and possible admission. You will run the Consultant’s practice, answer emails, telephone calls, proof read reports and liaise with other departments. You will need to have skills in Word as well as Microsoft Outlook.

We would require you to work closely with the Admissions team at Priory Woking to provide a seamless enquiry and admission processes.

You will need to be confident speaking with people on the phone enquiring about treatment at the hospital, demonstrating good levels of empathy as well as focusing calls/visits to facilitate consultations.
