Life Works is a exclusive private residential treatment facility for the treatment of addictions and eating disorders. Based in Old Woking, Surrey, Life Works operates from a stunning Grade II listed Georgian manor house providing compassionate, quality and effective care it is a 17 bed non acute facility the provides a safe, confidential, warm and nurturing environment to assist clients on their path to recovery.

 

We also have a one patient, bespoke service for those seeking high end therapeutic care and privacy. This is a unique service which provides discretion and a high standard of care separate from our main accommodation.

 

The service has a small, skilled staff team and a family feel. As a member of the Life Works team you would be welcomed into an environment filled with people who are passionate about the work they do and the clients we support.

Job Advert Role Description

We are currently seeking a part time doctor to work in our addiction treatment and eating disorder services. This would be an ideal role for a candidate looking to work around family or personal commitments, and we are happy to scope the hours for this role flexibly to support both the right candidate and the service.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Undertake psychiatric and physical assessments for clients on admission to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, and alongside the skilled multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of the Care Programme.

 

 

Participation in learning activities as a vital part of the team.

 

Participation in Clinical Governance activities, and account for contracted hours utilised in research, Continuing Professional Development and other non-clinical duties as necessary and in a timely manner.

 

Working effectively with colleagues to ensure clients holistic medical needs are met, including participation in MDT reviews.

 

Exercise flexibility in outlook and respond appropriately in response to reasonable changes in the demands of the service.

Any other duties considered to be commensurate with the level of the post.

 

Assist the Medical Director and Director of Clinical Services in achieving the unit’s objectives for promoting its reputation as a quality service which is attractive to purchasers, clients and carers. This may involve active planning and participation in promotional activities such as Open Days.

 

The role holder will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within a secure and/or step-down setting, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous.

 

Benefits include: Annual leave entitlement of 25 days (plus 8 bank/public holidays) pro rata, with additional leave for long service and a contributory pension.
