Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with very good local public transport links. 

The hospital provides a diverse range of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults aged 18-25 years, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, specialist Eating Disorder (including day care) and private acute and addictions treatment programmes.  With 78 beds across 7 wards, our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care. 

Job Advert Role Description

Requirements:

We are seeking a full time CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist who will work alongside a dedicated Speciality Doctor to care for up to 14 patients.

We require the candidate to have the following attributes:

• Previous Consultancy experience is desirable but not essential

• You will fulfil the role of Responsible/Approved Clinician to patients

• You must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties

• Valid GMC registration

• Evidence of post registration continuing professional development

• A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality

• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

• Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice

• The post-holder will participate in an on call rota (pro rata)
