Job Advert Location Description

WE ARE LOOKING FOR TALENTED PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!

Knowing that you’re making a difference to people’s lives is rewarding in itself. But our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do.

Priory Healthcare has opened a new hospital set in the beautiful surroundings of Lickey Hills, to the south of Birmingham. The hospital provides services for both NHS and private patients, with a range of mental health conditions.

The service comprises of 3 wards: a 10-bed adult Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (for adult men), a 12 bed adult Acute ward and a 12 bed Private Acute ward. The service takes a multi-disciplinary approach to delivering personalised treatment programmes to our in-patients as well as offering a Private Outpatient service.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green are looking for an experienced and talented Chef to join our Catering Team. You will already have relevant catering qualifications to at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and Level 3 in food hygiene. You will have a good understanding of food allergens and dietary requirements.

You will report to the Head Chef and together with your Catering Assistant colleagues you will ensure that patients, staff and visitors are offered tasty and nutritious meals which are prepared to a high standard. You will be supported by an experienced Support Services Manager and together with your colleagues from the Maintenance and Housekeeping Teams, you will ensure that the healthcare team are supported to deliver high quality care. We welcome people from all backgrounds and value the contribution that your life experience, culture and world view can bring.

You will receive full training, support and guidance to enable you to feel confident and comfortable in your role. As part of this you will need to complete some bespoke training, including prevention & management of violence and aggression training (PMVA). You will also need to complete an enhanced DBS check (it’s worth remembering that a "positive disclosure" such as a criminal record will not automatically exclude you from working with us but it is highly recommended that you talk to us about anything you think may be disclosed as early as possible).
