Job Advert Role Description

Priory Woodland View is a 31-bedded locked rehabilitation and recovery service for men requiring a positive environment to develop positive self-management and independent skills for a successful discharge into the community. Based in the centre of England, we offer true holistic care through our specially formulated Clinical Programmes. The hospital is set in a rural location and offers a perfect environment to reintegrate back into the community

From hospitals, care homes and secure facilities, the Priory Group of Companies offers individually tailored, multidisciplinary treatment programmes for those with complex needs or requiring acute, long-term and respite mental healthcare.

The integrated strength of each service provides a seamless transition for the individual as they progress between higher and lower dependency care and across services. We are seeking a qualified psychologist with a minimum of 2 years experience in working in mental health services. You will support with the delivery of a full ward programme which will include facilitating groups and managing a case load of patients for individual therapy sessions. You will be involved in Risk Assessments, the Management of and Delivery of a full programme for group and individual therapy.

There will be emphasis on providing comprehensive and specialist  assessments, intervention packages to patients to help them develop resilience, make sense of past life events, improve attachment to relationships, make sense of emotional , behavioural and developmental difficulties that can result from experience of abuse, neglect, maltreatment and/or adversity. The successful candidate would lead on this new pathway.

Main duties include:

Providing evidence based psychological assessment and treatment
Provision of 1:1 and group interventions to patients to address a range of needs
Contributing to MDT care planning and review
Contributing to the Care Programme Approach (CPA) process
Facilitating Reflective practice to teams and opportunity to engage is reflective space with other psychologists
Contributing to professional development within the direct and wider hospital team
Contributing to audit and research as directed by the line manager
