There is no better time to get into healthcare than now!

Has Covid 19 left you thinking about having a more rewarding career, that makes a positive difference to people’s lives? Are you feeling uncertain about job security? Perhaps recent job hunting hasn’t landed the job you want due to a lack of industry experience…

What if you could build a career in an industry that provides full training, requires no prior experience and leaves you with a genuine sense of achievement and reward knowing that you’ve made a huge positive impact on someone’s life?

If that sounds like you, this could just be the job for you!

Woodland View Priory Hospital are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants now! We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our healthcare team. In this role, you will become one of the first lines of support for our service users and be responsible for providing compassionate care during their time with us.

No experience in healthcare? Do not worry; At Priory, we are immensely proud of our career pathways and training. As long as you show the commitment and characteristics needed for a role in care, we will give you all the training and support you need to become a competent healthcare professional, including achieving the Care Certificate. You are not on your own and will also be working alongside our qualified nurses, allied health professionals and medical professionals who will help guide you day-to-day.

Whilst you don’t need any prior healthcare experience, there are a few characteristics we are looking for to ensure your success in this role:

Resilience – This is a role working with vulnerable people who can have varying degrees of mental health difficulties or a learning disability, so there will be days when it may be challenging. This is why we have a strong team ethos throughout our services.

Excellent Communication Skills – Communicating with service users, their families, visitors and colleagues is a core element of the role. Being able to understand the needs of the patients, demonstrating kindness, compassion, reassurance and having the ability to relay information are also key for this position.

Organisational Skills –You’ll need to be able to organise and detailed in your approach and be able to priorities work effectively.

Care and Compassion – Our service users require the best care and compassion we can offer, if you are a naturally caring person, this is a role for you.

Supporting diversity – No person is the same which is one of the great elements of working in this environment. With this, being attentive and making the effort to understand each person and identify areas of how we can support them is key.

Here is what we will give you:

  • A competitive salary
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing to 30 days with length service.
  • No one really wants to work their birthday so we will give you an extra day to celebrate in whatever way you see fit!
