The ideal candidate will have experience within a Support Worker Role, be ambitious and motivated to making a real difference as a Senior Support Worker, looking to develop further. You will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users, their families and other stakeholders, to work together in supporting service users in the planning of goals and in teaching them life skills. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.

  • Experience as a Residential Support Worker looking for the next step or currently a senior support worker
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children or Young People's Workforce or willingness to undertake this qualification
  • Full clean driving licence with own transport
  • Flexibility to work shift patters which include days, evenings and weekends.

As a Senior Support Worker you will be working in a fast paced, varied and rewarding environment. As well as supporting a staff team, involving inducting and training of new starters, shift planning and supervision and taking on additional responsibilities. As a Senior Support Worker will be mentored by a dedicated and passionate management team.

Devon Children's Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-19 who have complex needs including emotional, behavioural and associated difficulties which may originate from Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning disabilities. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

We are offering both part-time and full-time contracts so salary will vary dependent on your contractual hours. We have alternative care and education roles available across the country for temp, part-time and full time roles.

You may be required to work at one of our other homes - having your own transport or access to transport is required.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
