Job Advert Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly admin team, where an excellent sense of humour is a must!

Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason. We recruit some of the most committed people in the sector.

We are seeking an administrator with superb organisational skills and a keen eye for detail to join our busy, lively school office where high standards are essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general admin support including handling internal and external enquiries, prioritising as appropriate, answering the telephone, and meeting and greeting visitors.

The successful candidate must be able to take accurate notes at key meetings and produce reports, many of which will be sent to Education Authority departments and parents; these must reflect the salient points and the professional image of the school.

The role will include an element of data entry so the successful candidate must have an eye for detail, ensuring all information and documentation is correctly processed in line with company policies and procedures in order that regulatory, statutory and financial requirements are met.

The successful candidate should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent standard, with a high level of English and numeracy, as well as possessing excellent keyboard/ICT skills and ideally a good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.

This is a term time only role, working 15 hours across 2-3 days per week (including one afternoon until 4:30pm).

Our school:

Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school registered for 45 young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 10 and 18 years. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a ‘cycle of failure’ and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a ‘culture of success’. We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives.

We offer bespoke packages of education and therapy for our young people. We strongly believe that some individuals will always struggle to ‘fit in’ to existing structures and will only thrive when their provision is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

We warmly welcome our students into our community, which is underpinned by a culture of outstanding relationships, nurture and unconditional high regard.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service
