We currently have opportunities for energetic and committed Residential Support Workers (Days and Nights) to contribute to the effective delivery of care and individual programmes. We provide care 24/7 and Residential Support Workers are an integral part of our provision supporting our day and night rotas.

As professional Childcare workers you will ensure that your practice complies with policy and procedure and are in line with regulatory, statutory and compliance requirements and meet quality standards.

Quality

  • Contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of Learners and Young People.
  • Manages the well-being and behaviour of Learners and Young People ensuring any significant behavioural or physical occurrences are promptly addressed and reported, referring to a senior member of staff as appropriate.
  • Assists senior staff with the compilation of care and learning plans. Prepares incident and other reports and updates daily records and logs as required.
  • Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with students, pupils, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.

  • Adapts newly proven techniques within registered home.

  • Ensures young people who use our services are getting value for their money.

You will also be required to hold a current UK driving licence and undergo certified training and refresher courses in a range of areas including Safeguarding, Physical Intervention, Behavioural Management, First Aid, Fire Prevention and Health & Safety at work and other specialist training related to the location as well as the relevant CPD.

You are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) if your application is successful.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards or completion of HNC / SVQ 3 is preferred or willingness to work towards qualification.

Troup House School is a specialist School Care Accommodation service, offering residential care, support and education to children and young people, with additional support needs including autism and emotional and behavioural difficulties aged 8 to 18yrs. 

As the development of our service continues into 2021/2022 so do the opportunities for you to contribute to the care experiences of Looked After Children in Scotland within a School Care Accommodation service.
