Devon and Cornwall Children's Services are looking for Residential Support Workers to join their team at our Children's Home in Gunnislake, Cornwall. We are looking for enthusiastic staff to join the team in this new home.

We have full time (40 hours per week) and part time hours  (20 hours per week) available with a fantastic salary of up to 19,674 - £23,314 (depending on experience / sleep-ins / pro-rata for part time). Plus additional overtime hours available.

As a Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our children and young people. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families and other stakeholders, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in teaching them life skills. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.

Devon Children's Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-19 who have complex needs including emotional, behavioural and associated difficulties which may originate from Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning disabilities. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

We offer full training provided at Level 3, opportunities for further career development up to Level 5 and sector specialist additional training in a wide range of courses once your permanent contract and enhanced rate of pay once completed.

Our shifts patterns are: 8am – 9.30pm working on average 3 shifts per week and  based on a full time contract an average of 8 sleep-ins per month.

You may be required to work at one of our other homes - having your own transport or access to transport is essential for this position.
