CBT Therapist – CAMHS

Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is a private 46-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults, located on the edge of London in Hayes, Kent. The hospital provides care and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health issues as inpatients, day patients, and outpatients. Hayes Grove specialises in providing care for patients with acute mental health conditions, addiction issues - both drug and alcohol, and also has a specialist Eating Disorders unit and NHS acute service. The hospital is situated close to excellent transport links to central London, Croydon and Bromley areas and parking is available locally.

The role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced CBT therapist to facilitate individual sessions for CAMHS outpatients, aged between 7 and 18 years. Presentations include anxiety, depression, OCD, self-harm, autism, ADHD behavioural issues. Full BABCP accreditation is essential for this role. The successful candidate will be required to identify and deliver appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions to children and young people with varying mental health needs, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of the patients. The successful candidate will:

• Hold a relevant qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, counselling or clinical psychology.

• Have at least a years’ experience of working with children aged between 7 and 18 years in a mental health setting.

• Be able to provide independent clinical interventions for children aged between seven and 18 years in a mental health setting, using evidence based models.

• Feedback to families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team as appropriate.

• Have up to date knowledge of child and adolescent models and developmental appropriate behaviours.

Our service is based on a strong, friendly multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on supporting our staff through regular supervision, staff support groups, and annual appraisals. Good communication skills and a flexible approach are essential.
