Job Advert Role Description

Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason. We recruit some of the most committed people in the sector.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our friendly and supportive team. If you are looking for a rewarding and fulfilling position that will help to transform the lives of children in our care, then you are exactly what we are looking for.

We don’t just talk about putting our employees first. We invest heavily in training, provide first-class support, promote collaborative teamwork and give everyone on our team the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential.

Our staff have said the following about working for Aspris: ‘The flexibility is great, I can work my weeks hours in 2.5 days, giving me a great work life balance and time to do overtime if I like’ and ‘I started as a waking night support worker and became a Registered Manager; the investment and training packages are excellent’

If you want to help inspire and change the lives of young people then we want you to become part of our team – apply today.

We provide meals whilst on shift, a joining bonus of £1,000* and when you are in post, you could also earn up to £1,000* when you refer a friend or family member to our organisation through our Cash for Colleagues scheme.

What will I do as a Support Worker?

You will create a safe, healthy, and engaging environment to encourage positive behaviour within our children’s homes and schools. Our teams help our children to overcome any difficulties they may face, allowing them to strengthen their future.

Our young people with special educational needs and learning difficulties tend to take longer to learn new things and require further support developing their skills. The level of support varies from person to person but it’s important to remember that with the right support, most young people with a learning disability can go on to lead fulfilled and independent lives.

We work on a shift pattern, between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30pm including weekends and sleep ins. We also have waking night roles available, too!

As a Support Worker you will:

  • Support our young people with enjoying many fun outings, including to the cinema, bowling, beach trips, shopping trips and home activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviours and caring for the well-being of our service users.
  • Support the wider team of staff within the home/school to ensure the young people reach their full potential.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.

What do you get in return?

  • A generous salary (plus additional pay per sleep in)
  • Being part of a company that invests in you and your team for personal and professional development
  • Reward and discount schemes
  • Pension
  • Enhanced DBS fee paid
  • Access to a holiday package
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Well-being support

Due to some elements of the role, it is desirable but not a necessity for candidates to have held a driving licence for at least three years and have no more than six points.

We also have alternative children's homes based across the following areas: Lyndhurst, New Milton, Lymington, Southampton and Tatchbury Mount.

* Bonus and Pay-Scale T&C's Apply
