We are seeking a suitably qualified and registered Speech and Language Therapist with a passionate and informed interest in Autism (ASC) and co conditions to join our team at Sedgemoor Manor School.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have tangible experience supporting and facilitating 1:1 and group therapy to young people between the ages of 5 – 19 yrs.
  • A sound knowledge of evidence based support within the field of ASC is required, ELKLAN training is desirable but not essential. 
  • Suitable experience supporting language and developmental delays, skilled in facilitating standardised assessment[s], scoring, analysis and creating bespoke programmes.
  • Be proactive in disseminating best ways of working to the wider support team and will be confident to deliver onsite profession specific training to colleagues as and when required.
  • Work in close partnership with a diverse team of Therapy and educational specialists to deliver tailored support that meets the needs of each young person.
  • Join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated support staff, committed to delivering the very best care.
  • Be actively encouraged and supported to remain up to date with CPD and both internal and external training opportunities are available to you.

You will also receive a bespoke internal induction programme and the ability to network with Therapists across other sites. This role is term time only, and we are happy to consider applications from candidates looking for either full time or part time hours.

Sedgemoor Manor School is a specialist day school registered for 60 young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum and who are aged between 7 and 19 years. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a ‘cycle of failure’ and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a ‘culture of success.’ We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives.
