Job Advert Role Description

A Maintenance / Grounds Person is required to help carry out the reactive day to day maintenance issues within the schools/residential homes and their grounds.

Our Children's Services currently have two educational settings, Quay View School and Tor View School, and four Children's Homes in Tavistock, Gunnislake and Okehampton 

The role will involve:

  • liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as and when necessary.
  • self motivation and the ability to work with the minimum of supervision,
  • a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise and respond to the changing needs of the homes and schools
  • an understanding of the working environment and of young people with special education needs including Autism and BESD would be an advantage but not a requirement.

It is essential that you have a full and clean driving licence including your own transport.
