Job Advert Role Description

Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason and we are seeking two Residential Support Workers to join our children's home in Congleton, Cheshire.

To get you off to the best start with us, we will be including a £500 bonus! You will receive £250 when you first start, and then a further £250 upon successful completion of your probationary period!*

Our home supports up to three young people of either gender between the age of 8 to 18 years of age. The young people we support have challenging behaviours and emotional behavioural difficulties. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our forward thinking children’s home that is at the forefront of children’s residential care.

Shift working for the role is a requirement and this will also include sleep-ins which will be completed on a rota basis. An example of a shift pattern you can expect is:

  • Monday - 7am - 11pm followed by a sleep in
  • Tuesday - 7am - 11pm followed by a sleep in
  • Wednesday - off.

Our Residential Support Workers support with the following:

  • Supporting the young people in everyday living including transporting to and from school placements
  • Being the young person’s advocate when they cannot do this for themselves
  • Working as a team and supporting colleagues and senior staff
  • Ensuring administration is completed in line with statutory regulations
  • Assisting senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
  • Confident with managing behaviours that challenge
  • Liaising with external agencies and represent the home to a high standard.
  • Supervising family contact sessions
  • Encouraging educational engagement.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will need to hold a full UK driving license.

A Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable for this role, however not required as the successful candidate will complete this within an agreed timeframe.
