Job Advert Role Description

Do you want a career where you change the lives of our young people?

Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason. We recruit some of the most committed people in this sector.

Our children's home in Bromley provides a high standard of care and support for young people who have emotional and behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour.  To succeed, we need people who share our passion for making a difference and ideally have previous experience of working with challenging behaviour.  We are committed to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare and expect all staff to share this commitment.

What we’d like our Support Workers to have:

  • A clean driving license for at least 3 years as our Support Workers are required to support with day trips, school runs, hospital appointments and other outings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective organisational capability
  • Great team player
  • Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
  • Strong “can do” attitude.

In general our shifts are 24 hours starting at 8am or 9am with a sleep in attached taking you through to the next morning.  If you are working full time this would be 3 days a week. Weekends, Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year will be worked on a rota basis.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Childcare.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.

What do you get in return?

  • A generous salary
  • Being part of a company that invests in you and your team for personal and professional development
  • Reward and discount schemes
  • Pension
  • Enhanced DBS fee paid
  • Access to a holiday package
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Wellbeing support
  • Build your career with Aspris; rewards and recognition schemes in place for ongoing service.

You can be part of something special

At Aspris, we are dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities of the children and young people within our homes, and always celebrate uniqueness and diversity.

Our homes are part of a large children’s group with a national footprint offering significant development, support and progression opportunities. We also operate a fostering service and a number of high quality specialist schools in both the UK and the Middle East.
