Job Advert Role Description

Clay Hill is seeking an enthusiastic individual, ideally with some previous knowledge of education and Special Educational Needs (although not essential). This individual would be an integral part of the team, which is led by our SEND Coordinator/Assistant Headteacher.

This role is to support them in the daily running of the department within the school and administration duties of the role, as well as to ensure that the legal duties are upheld. 

Main duties include:

  • Complete SENDCo admin tasks such as; general paperwork required, updating and maintaining paperwork and quality assurance documents.
  • Take minutes of meetings and write these into required paperwork.
  • Ensure that assessment programs/licences are in place and in date.
  • Ordering of resources.
  • Filing and organising legal documents that are required to be maintained.
  • Liaise with the SENDCo/Assistant Head to ensure that work is completed to legal deadlines.
  • Understand and use the programs that are in place within the school to ensure that data is up to date and relevant.
  • To ensure their knowledge of the legal duty the SENDCo has within the school; and support the SENDCo to ensure this is in place.
  • Understand that some elements of this role are confidential and ensure that GDPR is clearly adhered to.
  • Ensure that they understand the Safeguarding element of this role and to ensure that all areas of safeguarding are adhered to.
  • To ensure that your professional development and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice is up to date.
  • Ensure that you have a professional manner with other departments and external bodies you may have to liaise with.

Clay Hill School is an independent specialist day school for young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs. We provide education for young people aged 5 to 19 years.

Residential placements are available on either a weekly, termly, or 52 week basis at our two on-site children’s homes.

We provide a warm and welcoming yet structured environment, which encourages children and young people to develop the social, educational and practical skills they require to enjoy and achieve.
