Job Advert Role Description

Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason. We recruit some of the most committed teachers in the sector.

Are you ready to make a real and lasting difference? Would you like to be part of a team committed to ensuring that our children and young people achieve their full potential?

If so, the role of Waking Nights Support Worker could be right for you.

As a Waking Nights Support Worker you will have responsibility to ensure that the children and young people in your care are safe. This is a 2 night per week - 52 week post.  It requires staff to be alert and observant at all times.

In addition to regular checks on the children and young people you will be assigned additional tasks which might include administration and laundry.

What we'd like from you:

  • Emotional resilience
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness
  • A strong 'can do' attitude
  • Effective communication skills

Previous experience in a special needs environment would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given to candidates who can demonstrate that they possess the skills required to be successful and a desire to learn.

Set in a semi-rural location within four acres of beautifully mature grounds. We believe Minerva Children’s Home is a very special home for children and young people where daily living experiences and activities are meaningful and memorable and are designed to meet the needs of individual children in areas that are personal to them.

Children may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.

Within our safe, structured and predictable environment, pupils will develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible, so that they are able to enjoy their lives and make real life choices as they reach adulthood.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.

What do you get in return?

  • A generous salary
  • Being part of a company that invests in you and your team for personal and professional development
  • Reward and discount schemes
  • Pension
  • Enhanced DBS fee paid
  • Access to a holiday package
  • Cycle to work scheme

If you would like to find out more or if you have specific questions to ask before making an application please contact Dianne Price, School Business Manager on 07795 636193.

If you would like to apply, please complete the application form fully as we cannot short list from a C.V.
