A once-in-a-career opportunity has arisen for a Hospital Director to join Priory Hospital Cheadle.

 

The services at Cheadle Royal include:

Acute mental health service -29-bedded service for males and females suffering from acute mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and personality disorders

Psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs) -30-bedded service for males and females suffering from an acute phase of severe mental illness, which cannot be managed in an open setting
Child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) - 35-bedded service for young people in need of intensive CAMHS support

Rehabilitation and recovery service -17-bedded service for males requiring rehabilitation and recovery services for severe and enduring mental health problems. Women requiring rehabilitation and recovery services are supported by our sister provision at Priory Hospital Romiley

Eating disorder service -11-bedded service for males and females diagnosed with a severe eating disorder

Personality disorder service - 10-bedded ward for females presenting with emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), offering a full dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) programme.

 

About you

  • The successful candidate must have experience as a Hospital Director or equivalent within a mental health setting. Preferably a clinician yourself but this is not essential.
  • You must have the capability to manage the day to day hospital operations and be able to work closely with both the clinical team and multiple stakeholders to continue our growth within a competitive market.
  • Enthusiasm, energy, charisma and competence are essential to deliver safe and excellent patient care we expected within the Priory Healthcare Group.

 

Job role

  • The job holder will play a key role in the effective operational management of all aspects of Cheadle Royal Hospital to ensure the delivery of high standards of patient care and to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, legislation and corporate policies. 
  • As the Hospital Director you will ensure the hospital remains compliant with CQC requirements and all regulated activities. Reporting directly to the Operations Director (North) you will be responsible for the hospital’s operational management and lead the overall function of the Hospital, including full P&L accountability.
  • You will take responsibility for effectively implementing hospital policies and procedures to enable the provision of a high-quality service, both in respect of patient care and employee engagement. Reviewing and developing potential opportunities for improved quality and commercial growth whilst putting our patients first with everything we do.
  • You will lead the senior management team to ensure the integrity of all functions in the hospital across Clinical functions, Finance, Marketing and HR, Sales & Services.
  • You will be a positive role model for the Priory group values and supporting our employee’s wellbeing.
  • The ability to influence all key stakeholders underpinned with a keen commercial instinct will be key to achieving continued success.
