We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Clerk to join the team on a 12 month fixed term basis (to cover maternity leave) and support our growing business. Reporting to the Procurement Manager the Procurement Clerk will be play a major part in providing support to the Purchasing department to optimise value for money across the total external spend of the Group constantly seeking to improve the department’s efficiency and effectiveness. 


Procurement Clerk duties include but are not limited to:

• Work within Purchasing policies, procedures and agreed KPI’s to provide support to the Procurement Manager and wider business.
• Process procurement transactions across a wide range of purchasing activities to provide support to the Group.
• Support the Procurement Manager and wider business to achieve financial savings through procurement activity in line with Group budgets and targets.
• Work with the Group’s extensive supplier base and liaise with business managers to ensure understanding of each other’s needs and requirements.
• Ensure that contracts established by Procurement are adhered to within the business.
• Lead the process of education to ensure that value for money/efficiency/good procurement becomes embedded within the Group at all levels.  
• Be involved in the development of improvements to internal controls such as purchase order processing, delegated authorities etc
• Provide reports and management information as required.

What we would like from the Procurement Clerk:

• Knowledge of the requirements of a working within a purchasing team.
• Purchasing/Procurement qualification preferred but not essential
• Proficient in Purchasing systems and Microsoft applications.
