WE ARE LOOKING FOR TALENTED PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!

Knowing that you’re making a difference to people’s lives is rewarding in itself. But our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do.

Job Advert Role Description

Priory Group is the UK’S leading independent provider of mental health care and education services.  We have an outstanding reputation both for the service we deliver and for the investment we make in our people and in our environment.

The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join a dynamic psychology department providing input to our Young People's Inpatient Service. The role will be working on a low secure ward for adolescent females with backgrounds of complex trauma and attachment difficulties.

The successful applicant will be embedded within the multi-disciplinary team, which includes colleagues in nursing, psychiatry, occupational therapy, family therapy and music therapy. The role is extremely diverse and involves a range of direct individual and group interventions (including DBT skills work), indirect working, consultation and training to the wider staffing team, and supporting psychological approaches to care. There will also be opportunity to provide clinical supervision to other members of the psychological therapies team.

Suitable candidates will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be registered with the HCPC. They should have some interest in, knowledge of and experience of working psychologically with adolescents, complex client groups and risk, and be interested in trauma informed approaches to care and intervention with these groups. Suitable candidates will also have the drive to develop innovative approaches to intervening psychologically with this client group, be interested in contributing to service development in conjunction with the lead clinician and have the desire to contribute to the wider literature and evidence base with regards to these clinical approaches and professional issues.

There are excellent CPD and training opportunities for employees within this service, and funded and accredited training opportunities will be available and agreed as part of the role.

The psychology department has strong research links with local Universities, providing placements for trainees from a number of different courses on both core and specialist placements.
