Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is a private 46-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults, located on the edge of London in Hayes, Kent.

The hospital provides care and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health issues both as inpatients and day patients. Hayes Grove specialises in providing care for patients with acute mental health conditions, addiction issues - both drug and alcohol, and also has a specialist Eating Disorders unit and NHS acute service. The hospital is situated close to excellent transport links to central London, Croydon and Bromley areas and parking is available locally.

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic therapists across a range of modalities to join our team of highly experienced therapists, who are excited to see our therapy team grow and continue to deliver world-class care. We are currently looking for a qualified Addictions Therapist, with specific experience of delivering group therapy, to lead our team of therapists who support the running of the Addictions Treatment Programme in an acute mental health setting.

We offer an intensive, abstinence-based programme with high levels of group therapy and a strong emphasis on Aftercare support, whilst also supporting Detoxification admissions and offering outpatient therapy to those requiring individual support.

The successful candidate should have experience within the field, be conversant with the principles and practices of abstinence-based treatment, and hold at least a Diploma in counselling or a relevant professional qualification in addictions. Previous experience of leading a team is preferred.

Applicants will be required to:

  • Receive and respond promptly to referrals, undertaking patient assessments and identifying and prioritising patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant treatment, either on an individual or group basis.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records detailing each patients' rehabilitation and progress.
  • Coordinate the delivery of the Aftercare programme.
  • Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and fellowship groups.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient management of the addictions team, inclusive of clinical and managerial supervision, together with the management of annual leave, sickness, annual Performance Development Reviews, and monthly team meetings.
  • Join monthly Clinical Governance Committee meetings and provide a report on the Addictions Service Line, including any progress updates, feedback, or development where relevant. 
  • The successful candidate will hold BACP accreditation, or evidence of accreditation with another relevant professional body, and previous experience of working in a mental health hospital setting is desirable.

Our service is based on a strong, friendly multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on supporting our staff through regular supervision, staff support groups, and annual appraisals.
