Job Advert Role Description

Elm Park is a 17 bedded Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit in Ardleigh which specialises in the assessment, care and treatment of adult residents (18+ years) with an acquired brain injury.

There are also have two smaller community houses based in the local area which provides open rehabilitation support for up to a further 7 males and females

An exciting opportunity has opened for a dynamic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team based at Elm Park, Ardleigh near Colchester.

As our new Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be part of our hospital senior management team. You will be responsible for the Clinical Psychiatric  assessment and interventions within the service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

•           Implementation of effective clinical interventions and ensuring that treatments are aligned to best practice

•           Promotion of an effective working relationship across the multidisciplinary team

•           Supporting and encourage a safe and efficient discharges that meet patients’ identified pathways and needs.

•           On-call duties as part of the Senior Management Team


Essential skills and requirements:

•           Full GMC registration with inclusion on the specialist register

            MRCPsych/FRCPsych with evidence of continuous professional development scrutinised by a peer group

•           A passion for providing high quality care and continuous improvement

•           Demonstrable leadership and decision making skills

•           A Forward thinking, proactive and creative individual who can think outside the box

•           The ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment.

•           Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

•           Someone who strives to  ensure every colleague is able to make a positive and lasting difference to patients and their families

•           A Strong Team Player who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
