Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital North London is recruiting for a DBT / CBT Therapist to work within the busy day hospital service.


The DBT programme is a core part of the therapeutic offering at the hospital. Currently two 20-week DBT groups run on a Wednesday and Thursday for day patients, with a further group to be set up on a Friday or Tuesday. The successful candidate would be facilitating DBT groups providing, 4.5 clinical hours per day with one day set aside for assessments.


You will have completed ten days training in DBT on top of your core CBT or other psychological therapy training and you will have appropriate registration/ accreditation with a governing body such as BABCP, BACP or UKCP. Membership / accreditation with SFDBT is preferred but not essential.


The core working hours for the role are 22.5 hours across Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.


You will be working as part of a wider therapy team within a MDT and there is weekly 1.5 hour DBT consult which must be attended. The DBT consult has a flat hierarchy and attendees include Consultant Psychiatrists, DBT Therapists, Counselling Psychologists and Clinical Leads. The Consult and individual DBT supervision are provided by an accredited DBT Consultant Therapist.
