Priory Hospital Southampton is rated GOOD overall with outstanding in CARING, Priory Hospital Southampton sits within 1.5 acres of beautiful grounds. This tranquil setting is approximately four miles from the M27 and two miles from Totton train station, and has free onsite parking. The hospital offers opportunities for nurses to work in a number of service line settings – Adult Acute, Adult Eating Disorders and CAMHS meaning nurses have the chance to experience other wards on rotation.

The hospital prides itself on ensuring that patients’ recovery and care remain its primary focus throughout their stay. Led by an effective and stable management team it has a robust preceptorship programme. The hospital environment, referral screening process and links with the local provider collaborative sees low levels of incidents requiring restraint despite being designated as an ‘acute’ facility.

  • Committed to providing individualised care for patients in terms of both mental and physical health.
  • Supports Junior staff in terms of supervision, continuous  professional development and career development
  • Experienced in recruitment and retention

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities

  • Excellent Leadership  and Management Skills
  • Clinical experience within a Multi-disciplinary team
  • Good communicator within all situations
  • Experienced  in leading a team
  • Able to focus on staffing and develop staff to meets the needs of the ward
  • Experience of supporting students
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Legislation and Statutory requirements
  • Experience of investigations, complaints and report writing
