Job Advert Role Description

We want you to get off to the best start with Priory so we are giving you up to £250 when you first start your employment with us, and then when you are settled in in 6 months’ time we will give you up to another £250 for your hard work.

Devon Children's Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-18 who may have SEMH and /or Autism. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

We currently have two educational settings, Quay View School and Tor View School, and four Children's Homes in Tavistock, Gunnislake and Okehampton.

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to work in our Childrens’ Home in Tavistock. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy to mould, drive and develop the Children’s Home and take it to outstanding.

This will include driving continuous improvement, making effective use of assessment methods and working with staff to deliver excellent standards of care that comply with all relevant regulatory, governance and quality standards. Experience of managing teams, along with good leadership and communication skills,.

  •  At least a level three qualification with children and or young people or in Health and Social Care
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development
  • Have experience of working with children and young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties

  • Have the ability to work flexibly and demonstrate resourcefulness

You will be available to work shift patters which include days, evenings and weekends, including the possibility of sleep in duties.

You may be required to work at one of our other homes and so own transport is essential.
