37.5 hours per week (8am - 4pm, 2.30pm - 11pm, 8am - 11pm)

Job Advert Role Description

Our children's home in Chesterfield are currently recruiting Support Workers to join their team.

As a Support Worker, you will be a key member of our children’s home team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people throughout their day-to-day life.  The successful candidate will be approachable and able to communicate with children of all ages.

The successful candidate will be required to build good relationships with both young people and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible.

This is a physically demanding role, you must have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment.

Successful applicants must ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour, however if you have the right personality we will support you to gain and develop the experience you need.

A family is 24/7 and so are we.  As a Support Worker, you must be flexible as the home operates a rota system comprising of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends.  This role does not require any contractual ‘sleep-in’ duties but may be occasionally asked to cover sleep in.

Our children's home is based in a semi rural area on the outskirts of Temple Normanton village and Calow near Chesterfield.  We care for up to 8 young people aged 9 - 16 who exhibit behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.  Our home replicates a caring, family environment that provides the opportunities that will hopefully one day help our young people to lead positive and rewarding lives.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.
