Job Advert Location Description

Robinson House is a 10 bedded open unit caring for adult males with chronic enduring complex mental health difficulties. The unit has a homely environment and is set in a quiet residential area of Bury, Lancashire.


Job Advert Role Description

The purpose of the role is to administrate the Mental Health Act 1983 ensuring compliance with the MHA 1983 regulations, MHA code of Practice and divisional policies and procedures in relation to the Mental Health Act.

The role holder will be expected to support and advise staff, service users, and relatives on the Mental Health Act and associated procedures and create and maintain individual legal files for service users subject to the Act, safeguarding confidential information and statutory documentation.

The role holder will be responsible for processing hearings in relation to the MH tribunals and Hospital Mangers review, notifying all relevant parties, obtaining reports, arranging hearing dates and a venue for the hearing.

Candidates will have experience of working as a Mental Health Act Administrator and will be able to understand, interpret and apply the relevant legislation and current case law relating to the act. Candidates will also be able to work under pressure and prioritise to meet constantly changing demands and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additionally the post holder will be an active member of the administration team, providing administration to the mental health ward (Robinson House) and working alongside the admin team to ensure effective administration of the hospital. The post holder therefore will be experienced in the use of all Microsoft packages.
