Job Advert Role Description

We do something special, be a part of it!

At our various children's homes based across the following areas: Lyndhurst, New Milton, Lymington, Southampton, Tatchbury Mount

We support young people with autism and complex needs.

We need support workers who will inspire and guide our young people to their personal best.

Due to some elements of the role, it is desirable but not a necessity for candidates to have held a driving licence for at least three years and have no more than six points.

What will I do as a Support Worker of Priory Education & Children’s Services?

You will create a safe, healthy and engaging environment to encourage positive behaviour within our children’s homes and schools.  Our teams help our children to overcome any difficulties they may face, allowing them to strengthen their future.

Our young people with special educational needs and learning difficulties tend to take longer to learn new things and require further support developing their skills. The level of support varies from person to person but it’s important to remember that with the right support, most young people with a learning disability can go on to lead fulfilled and independent lives.

As a Support Worker you will:

  • Support our young people with normal excursions which may include shopping, swimming, visiting restaurants and theme park trips!
  • Encourage positive behaviours and caring for the well-being of our service users.
  • Support the wider team of staff within the home/school to ensure the young people reach their full potential.

Shifts are between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30pm including weekends and sleep ins.

We also have waking night roles available, too!

Due to some elements of the role, it is desirable but not a necessity for candidates to have held a driving licence for at least three years and have no more than six points.

What's in it for you?

We look after your career too.  With our career pathways you, like many of our staff, can go from support worker up to CEO level with guidance and learning supplied by us!

  • Competitive salary plus £35 per sleep in for residential support roles
  • As well as the children, Priory strives to look after you. We provide excellent support and professional supervision, regular training opportunities and the chance to undertake further qualifications through our Career Pathways programme
  • Online discounts and cashback for high street to holidays
  • Free monthly £1,000 colleague lotto
  • We cover the cost of your DBS
  • Cash for colleagues – You can earn money for friends and family you recommend!

We don’t just talk about putting our employees first.  We invest heavily in training, provide first-class support, promote collaborative teamwork and give everyone on our team the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential.

If you have been affected by coronavirus, or are tired of working from home we have care and education roles available across the country on a temp, part-time and full time basis.
