Job Advert Role Description

Our children's home in Wisbech are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our friendly support team.

We are a small and nurturing home in Wisbech that cares for four young people between the ages of 8 - 18 with emotional and behavioural needs.  Our young people are supported at the home and in the community and are encouraged to undertake various activities and hobbies to increase their confidence and sense of belonging.  We have a lovely home that supports independence and self-care skills so the young people can be independent in the future.  We are currently rated as Good with Ofsted but hope to improve on this further.  Everyone that visits talks about how homely and child focused the home is.

Our Senior Residential Support Workers support with the following:

  • Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home
  • Assisting the management team with the supervisions of junior staff
  • Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs and to ensure that they achieve their full potential
  • Writing and maintaining placement and risk management plans
  • Supporting and encouraging educational engagement.

It is an essential requirement for this role that the successful candidate has a current valid driving license.

Our Senior Residential Support Workers form part of a rolling rota pattern working 15 hour shifts that include 10 - 11 sleep ins per month.  The sleep in rate is £35 per shift.
