Job Advert Role Description

We require a CAMHS Teaching Assistant to join our team at North West Priory School. The successful candidate will undertake education support duties; assist the class teachers in the day-to-day needs of the pupils and administrative responsibilities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Highly motivated to support pupils to make progress and fulfil their potential
  • Have previous experience of classroom support
  • Have the ability to contribute positively to the overall programme of learning for each student to ensure progression
  • Be able to work efficiently and independently
  • Listen to advice given and follow clear directives
  • Develop and promote positive relationships with children, adults and other practitioners
  • Support Literacy and Numeracy development
  • Prepare and maintain the learning environment and provide displays.

North West Priory School operates across four CAMHS wards within Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital and Priory Altrincham Hospital. We provide education for 50 pupils aged 13 – 18 years old.

Pupils are admitted to the hospital for treatment for conditions such as; eating disorders, self-harm, depression, anxiety, OCD, psychosis.

We provide a personalised curriculum for our pupils while on admission, to ensure they are able return to their previous educational placement or explore new opportunities, post discharge.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.
